FedSwagat–Digital appointment booking channel to visit Federal Bank

FedSwagat is an innovative appointment booking channel launched for visitors by the Federal Bank Ltd. The bank, which is one of the major commercial sector banks in India, has always been in the forefront in adopting technology, leveraging digital channels and extending digital banking products to customers to create unmatched customer experience. FedSwagat is the latest product from the Federal Bank for visitors to book prior appointments when they need to visit branches for transacting essential business. According to bank officials, FedSwagat is a convenient facility which can be opted by customers and that appointment is not mandatory for visits to branches. However, if booked through FedSwagat, such customers will receive priority over walk in customers in the booked slot.

What is FedSwagat?

FedSwagat, in essence is a booking platform provided by Federal Bank which can be utilised by any person who wishes to book an appointment to visit a Federal Bank branch. The online facility is launched on pilot basis and the facility is now extended across fifty branches of the bank.

Since the outbreak of COVID19, there has been a shift towards social distancing and digital banking transactions. Even though banking has been declared essential service, customers have been minimising branch visits and have been using digital channels like ATMs, UPI based applications, mobile banking and online banking products for their essential banking transactions. As the country is gradually coming out of lockdown, many customers wish to visit branches for availing various services that have been kept aside. At the same time, many bank customers prefer to maintain social distancing to ensure better safety for themselves and bank employees. FedSwagat launched by the Federal Bank aims to support customers to carry out banking transactions by ensuring social distancing by fixing prior appointments online.

How to book an appointment to visit Federal bank branch through FedSwagat?

Fixing an appointment through FedSwagat is a simple and can be completed in maximum two minutes. The customer can book an appointment by visiting the website of the bank (https://federalbank.co.in) or by visiting the URL https://www.booking.federalbank.co.in/

Process for booking through FedSwagat

1. The person who is interested to book an appointment shall visit the online facility by visiting the official website of the bank or by clicking the link provided above. For fixing an appointment, the person need not be an existing customer of the bank.

2. The person will be identified by sending an OTP to the mobile phone number entered in the link.

3. On successful verification through OTP, the customer will be required to provide the name, e-mail ID and select the branch where appointment is required. Presently, the facility is available in fifty select branches. The bank has 1276 banking outlets and 1551 ATMs.

4. The user can select the purpose visit from a drop down menu. The menu displays various options like Cash Deposit/Withdrawal, NEFT/RTGS/Fund Transfer, Cheque Deposit/Clearing, Locker Operations, Deposit (FD, RD, etc) Related Operations, Insurance & Mutual Funds, Gold Loan, Car/Home Loan, Open account (SB/Current), Foreign Exchange Operations, Updating Address/Phone Number , Debit card related operations, Meeting Branch Manager etc. They can also provide brief details of the purpose of visit so as to enable branch to have advance information.

5. Customers have the option to select the preferred date and time slot for visit. They can select any of the half an hour timeslots between 10 am to 5 pm on any working day. The booking can be done in advance for 30 days. Same day booking can also be made for slots with a gap of minimum four hours.

6. On submission of details, the user will receive a confirmation message in the mobile phone and e-mail. Customers may cancel and rebook, if warranted.

According to bank officials, all bookings other than meeting the Branch Manager will be approved automatically, for the selected time slots. Selection of time slots will be permitted only if the slot is free for booking. For the bookings to meet Branch Manager, appointment will be confirmed by the Branch Manager subject to availability.
